my name is amanda (some people caLL ME A-REY OR MANDA FOR SHORT), AND I'M A WILLAMETTE VALLEY BASED PHOTOGRAPHER WITH A DOCUMENTARY STYLE APPROACH, specializing IN PORTRAITS AND being a hopeless romantic. My curiosity around photography began when I first picked up my uncle's camera at the age of 12. Whether I realized it at the time or not, that sparked my love for creating memories through a camera lens.
I am a wife, sister, daughter, friend, tita (aunty), and mom to three amazing children who have four legs each. As a native Oregonian, I'm a nature lover who is always down for a good adventure OR A RAINY COUCH-DAY AT HOME. My husband, Ethan, and I are often out seeing the sites and traveling the world, on a mission to learn about different cultures, ART, communities, and OF COURSE to find the best snack (and photo-worthy places).
For most of my adult life, my photography WAS focused on nature and the places I’ve traveled, but recently I’ve discovered a deep inspiration in photographing people. My love language has always been acts of service, and while I sometimes fall short with words of affirmation, my camera gives me another way to express the depth of my love for people. Through a documentary-style approach, I’m able to translate my admiration and perspective of others and their relationships into images that feel like home. It’s a privilege to honor people in this way, and I look forward to sharing that experience with you.
